The soap star was beaming with pride as the first episode of the hit new Irish comedy hit our screens last night. Clelia was quick to champion her teenage daughter, who plays the role of Gemma, as Twitter went to overdrive with critics and viewers absolutely loving the show. And the thought of walking down the aisle in front of over guests at a UK size 18 horrified her. With just months to go until she married the love of her life, James, Stacey was determined to do something about her weight. The merchandise administrator, 31, signed up to Slimming World and has since lost an incredible five stone and dropped three dress sizes in just nine months. And on top of that, she managed to do it all without setting foot in a gym or doing any exercise whatsoever.

Registered in Ireland: You do have to put your finger where it hurts. And, contrary to her expectations, it turns out she can sing and dance after all. Last year, she downsized and moved from Dunboyne to Dublin city with her daughter Clarabelle, who is 17 and a member of Dublin Youth Theatre. She refuses to take any credit for her well-adjusted daughter. I had great help from my mum and my grandparents and my sister and her godfathers — a gay couple. I chose well.
