Amy Hodgepodge Digging Up Trouble by Kim Wayans

This fourth installment in the Amy Hodgepodge series follows the same suit of its predecessors: Amy encounters some difficulties in her fourth-grade life and makes some mature yet hard decisions while surrounded by her incredibly diverse group of level-headed friends. The plot is a bit roundabout in this edition as a lost dog leads to an Eco-friendly fundraiser, but the earnest heart of Amy and these books remains in tact. Of particular note for this book is that the resident mean girl Jennifer and her cohorts actually begin to redeem themselves (slightly) here.

After reading about the Amy Hodgepodge book series I decided to put together a small list of book series that your reader may find interesting. Book 1 - All Mixed Up. Synopsis: After years of being home schooled, Amy Hodges is excited to start fourth grade at a real school. On Amy's first day, she gets teased not only because she is new, but also because she looks different. Amy is part Asian, Caucasian, and African American. Eventually, Amy meets a group of nice kids and one of them even affectionately gives her the nickname, Amy Hodgepodge, since she's a mix of so many races. But when their teacher announces that the annual talent show is coming up, Amy wonders if her new friends will want to include her, too.

I am excited to share a great kids book series with you today, called Amy Hodgepodge , written by Kim Wayans and Kevin Knotts. Amy and her friends are all multicultural and it is good to see them! I am a multicultural kid, and it is rare to see other multicultural kids in books. I liked seeing the different ways that multiracial kids can look and how their families are. I felt like I could understand these kids, no matter what their family background!
