Lace you sound so happy!! I like the quote never heard it before, but it makes sense and its a good quote. Congrats to you and Tadd for your baby! I think it is not easy to enjoy life and i must say that i am in fighting life mode most of the time and thus experience it as enduring it. I probably get the "you are so negative" response but one can not discount one's background as to why and how one sees the world and life. This is not an excuse. I am almost 60 now and despite the fact that I have not lived in third world circumstances, had good health, reasonably sufficient money to get by through skill and ability to sustain myself, i wouldnt want to live life again and that there will come a day that i will have had enough of life and be glad that i will cease to exist.

Three times more people died among those who endured, not enjoyed, life. Is living longer enough of a reason?

What an important reminder. You would think it would be a no-brainer that life is meant to be enjoyed, but I think the reality is that it is not. It is so easy to get sucked into the business of life and the stresses that surround us to the point that we go into endurance mode and we genuinely forget that the purpose of life is to enjoy it! We slip into the mode of enduring each day and hoping that some day it will all get easier and better. We have become overly focused on ourselves rather than others. And when we allow that to happen our lives suddenly feel overwhelming and stressful and sad. If we can step back and put things in the proper perspective, recognizing all the blessings in our lives, appreciating all our loved ones, and acknowledging all that is good in the world, suddenly our spirits are lifted and we are able to have much fun and laughter — and that is what life should be.
