Originally planned as a six-book series, it now consists of fourteen published novels. The series also includes a stand-alone prequel novel and a companion book. The move was the culmination of what had been a year-and-a-half process, going back to April , when it was first reported that Sony Pictures Television was moving forward with the TV project.
