Jem and the Holograms: The Misfits: Infinite #2 by Kelly ThompsonInfinite 4
PLOT: As the Misfits reach the other side of the wall, their holograms wear off. So they remove the earrings. Which Pizzazz is all more than happy to do. Pizzazz missing good music hears exactly that and they follow the sound to a (tavern?) where they find this alternate universes version of Kimber and Stormer. Just like in the cartoon, they sound amazing together. It touches Stormer that even this world theyre a couple, but she worries when she sees the other version of her has a mechanical arm. Pizzazz gets in their face, as usual. She admits the remake they preform of one of the Misfits songs is hot, but where are the other Misfits. Reluctantly they learn that all the other Misfits just like the Holograms are no more. Pizzazz in fury threatens to make Jem pay for all this when she gets back home, but Kimber and Stormer (alternate) warn Pizzazz against what consequences her actions could have. It was because of her after all that things got to be so corrupted in this world. The story is Kimber was loose with the secret. Pizzazz found out and held a conference. Jem and the Holograms were killed off and the government took control of the Jem Tech. The Misfits were also blown up at the Gabor mansion. And the Jem Tech was used to divide the population. The Misfits are signaled back to Jerrica whose come up with a way to make things right.
MY THOUGHTS! This was a GREAT issue! First of all, I love the idea of lightning bolt hologram earrings for the Misfits. Ive used this idea in my own RPG. And then its fun to see the things the cartoon Synergy warned about she was to fall into the wrong hands. It was very clever to focus on that as a plot. Also to throw back to the episode of Kimber and Stormers group. But what I wanna know is what happened to Stormers arm. If she wasnt anywhere near the explosion with the rest of the Misfits how did her arm get damaged? Why didnt they give us this detail? But I guess its a detail well never get sadly. I think this was my favorite issue in the Infinite series because it actually had some depth to it.
Review: JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS: INFINITE #2
To say that Jem and the Holograms have been through a lot recently, would be an understatement! We have seen Jerrica try to come to real terms with her double life. In doing so, she ended up losing Rio. We have seen the Holograms gain new members, and regain old ones. Not to mention the never ending battle with The Misfit!

Check out how this issue of startling reveals holds itself up! There are only very minor spoilers in this review, though. There are a lot of parts for writer Kelly Thompson to juggle in this crossover, with a big cast of two bands plus side characters, a whole new setting incorporating more sci-fi elements than the series has ever had before, and changes to the status quo. The story explores what could go wrong with the hologram technology used by Jem if it would be taken into the hands of a giant corporation with some dramatic twists. There are some very interesting setups in play here with characters meeting alternate versions of people familiar to them.
