Batman #1 by Scott SnyderHere it is, the start of Snyder and Capullos BATMAN run. As first issues go, its very good. We meet Batmans/Bruces inner circle (Dick Grayson, Gordon etc...), we get a few pages with a bunch of different villains, and we get Batman beginning the mystery that continues throughout The Court of Owls arc. I particularly like the first page, were Snyder and Capullo show us the Narrows, Wayne Tower and Arkham Asylum on one page. There are no captions to tell the reader what the buildings are, because theyre not needed. Its clear thanks to Capullos portrayal of the buildings and different class areas of Gotham. Its a good first issue, and one of the best of The New 52.

There are not many comic books published since that you could actually make more than 50 times your original investment on if you slabbed and sold them today. Batman 1 from the New 52 is one of them. There are two variant covers on the original.
